SURROUNDED!
Think you know surround? Think again!
Surround sound is tightly integrated with the future of video and music at all levels. Surround can be an exceptionally complex process requiring not only specialized equipment, but more specialized knowledge. Desktop video editors are often intimidated by the mere thought of audio, and the authoring of surround is no exception. Jeffrey P. Fisher will de-mystify surround sound for both musical and visual environments, teaching tips, tricks, techniques, and how to avoid the most common (and uncommon) pitfalls of mixing for surround. AC-3, LCPM, MPEG2, SACD formats are all part of this day long event. Understanding compression, reverbs, delays, "faking" from mono or stereo sources, setting the mix for proper playback over 5.1 and stereo systems will be taught/demonstrated during the day.
Jeffrey will demonstrate surround mixing and techniques in Sony's Vegas, but the principles of surround taught apply to any surround authoring application, so even if you aren't a Vegas user, you'll walk away from this seminar knowing exactly what to do in your surround authoring application.
